Music Class

Class Descriptions

MusicKids offers music classes for young children.

Classes are split in the following groups:

 

Babies make music: 3 months - walking  (1-1.5 years ) 

Toddlers make music: 1 - 2 years

Kids make music: 2-3 years

Big Kids make music: 3-4 years

Young Musicians make music: 4,5 & 6  years

 

All classes are term based and split into 3 terms from September - May. 

Parents/guardians are required to attend all classes.

Classes are kept to a maximum of 10 students.

I do not offer "drop in" classes.  You are very welcome to have a free trial class and pay for a second lesson before you commit to a term.

Music Kids also offers Simply Music Piano Lessons for children aged 6 upwards. Adults lessons and piano workshops also available.

Babies Make Music 3 months - Walking

  • These lessons are suitable from 3 months to walking (1-1.5 years)

  • This class is about making music by singing, moving and instrument playing.

  • Massage rhymes, action rhymes, floor and chair games, beat keeping, group dancing, instrument playing, lullabies, repetition

  • Parents/guardian are required to participate in this class

  • Duration: 45 minutes

  • This is not pay as you go. You are welcome to attend one trial class free of charge and if required a second trial class which costs €15. After this I ask you to pay on a term by term basis to ensure consistent attendance in the same class and your on-time arrival helps ensure your child’s confidence, participation and musical growth.

  • Term starts in September. New students are welcome to join at any stage throughout the year. 

  • Please do not bring toys, food or drinks into the music room.

  • Music Kit: You are required to purchase a music kit for this class. Which you are required to bring to class each week and take home to continue music making at home.


Finally, please be patient with your child and allow him or her to observe until they feel comfortable enough to join in. Your participation in class is essential, especially for your child. Your participation demonstrates that this is a worthwhile activity and it enhances your childs participation in music activities.

Toddlers Make Music - 1-2 years

Our toddlers are constantly on the move in this active music class. Developing what they learn't in the baby class. With the use of puppets, scarves, percussion instruments, song singing. 

  • These lessons are suitable for 1 & 2 year olds

  • This class is about making music by singing, moving and instrument playing.

Kids Make Music - 2 - 3 years 

  • These lessons are suitable for 2 & 3 year olds.

  • Parents/guardian are required to participate in this class

  • As a child gets older, the number of activities, songs and rhymes in the lesson decreases. Often one story, song or activity becomes the focus of the lesson. It is this piece or story from which the solo singing, movement, instrument playing, exploration and creativity are inspired. The following areas are developed in the music curriculum, singing, beat and rhythm, visual work to assist with counting, “reading” from left to right, remembering words and encouraging participation.

  • Instrument playing using Orff and  percussion skills. Movement and developing listening skills.

  • Parents/guardian are required to participate in this class

  • Duration: 45 minutes

Simply Music Piano Program - suitable for age 6 years +

This breakthrough piano lesson program sets a new standard in music education.
